Nylas has published a new case study highlighting how Foundersuite has leveraged the Nylas Email API to support investor outreach and fundraising communications across its platform since 2018.

Foundersuite provides startups, accelerators, and investment firms with an integrated fundraising workflow that includes investor discovery, CRM tools, outreach automation, pitch deck hosting, data rooms, and deal documentation resources. According to the company, businesses using the platform have collectively raised more than $21 billion in funding across over 100,000 companies.

Investor communication remains a core component of the Foundersuite platform. Initially, the company developed its own Gmail integration to support outreach capabilities, but ongoing maintenance challenges and provider-side changes created operational strain for the engineering team. In addition, the lack of Outlook support limited the platform’s ability to serve a broader customer base.

To simplify infrastructure management and expand email provider coverage, Foundersuite integrated the Nylas Email API, enabling support for Gmail, Outlook, and additional providers through a single connection layer.

“We tried building our own Gmail integration, and it was always having issues. It took a lot of engineering time to maintain,” said Nathan Beckord, CEO of Foundersuite. “Moving to Nylas meant we could support both Gmail and Outlook users through one integration, reach virtually every founder on our platform, and get our engineers focused back on Foundersuite.”

The integration now powers several core communication workflows within Foundersuite, including:

  • Bi-directional email synchronization
  • Personalized investor outreach
  • Open tracking and engagement visibility
  • Email draft and template management
  • Provider-agnostic authentication support

By consolidating communications infrastructure into a unified API layer, Foundersuite was able to reduce engineering overhead while improving platform scalability and reliability.

“AI is only as powerful as the infrastructure behind it, and Foundersuite has understood that longer than most,” said Jeff Koets, CEO of Nylas. “What started as a need to support Gmail and Outlook through one integration has evolved into a foundation for the next generation of intelligent fundraising workflows.”

Looking ahead, Foundersuite is developing an autonomous fundraising AI agent designed to automate investor discovery, outreach sequencing, and follow-up activities with minimal manual effort. The company noted that the communications infrastructure established through Nylas provides the foundation for these future AI-driven fundraising capabilities.

The collaboration reflects a broader trend across SaaS and fundraising technology platforms, where unified communications infrastructure and AI-powered workflow automation are becoming increasingly important for improving efficiency, scalability, and user engagement.
