Funding round led by AVP will support international expansion, platform development and new traffic management capabilities as AI agents reshape internet activity.

Blackwall has raised $100 million in a Series C funding round at a valuation of $2.2 billion, positioning the company among Europe’s most highly valued cybersecurity scaleups. The round was led by AVP, with existing investors Dawn Capital, MMC Ventures and Tera Ventures also participating.

The investment will support Blackwall’s ambition to build a global traffic management ecosystem through its network of web hosting providers. The company plans to expand into 12 strategic regions across North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific and the Middle East while developing additional security and traffic management capabilities for hosting, cloud and managed service providers.

Blackwall’s platform operates within hosting providers’ infrastructure, helping identify legitimate visitors and automated traffic while filtering malicious bots, distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks and other forms of traffic abuse. Its capabilities include bot mitigation, DDoS protection, web application firewall technology, load balancing, server-side encryption and management of traffic generated by AI agents.

The company says its systems process billions of requests daily, supporting websites as internet traffic becomes increasingly automated and complex.

Expanding Global Operations and Platform Capabilities

Blackwall intends to use the funding to strengthen its international presence and expand the range of traffic security services available through its platform.

The planned development will give hosting, cloud and managed service providers access to a broader set of traffic management capabilities through a single infrastructure layer. The strategy is designed to help providers meet evolving customer requirements without having to develop and maintain every security technology independently.

“The web is becoming more automated, more distributed and more complex, but the infrastructure that powers it remains highly fragmented,” said Nikita Rozenberg, co-founder and CEO of Blackwall. He said the funding would enable the company to expand globally, strengthen its platform and help infrastructure providers prepare for the next generation of the internet.

Supporting Hosting Providers With Security and New Revenue Opportunities

Blackwall works with web hosting, managed service and cloud providers that support a substantial portion of the internet. The company operates within providers’ existing infrastructure rather than competing directly with them for their customers.

Its model offers hosting providers two principal benefits. First, filtering unwanted traffic before it reaches servers can reduce infrastructure and operating costs while improving website performance. Second, providers can package Blackwall’s modular security capabilities into their own service offerings, creating additional revenue opportunities without building the underlying technology themselves.

The approach targets a fragmented hosting market in which infrastructure providers serve businesses with diverse security and performance requirements.

Investors See Opportunity in the Growth of AI Agent Traffic

Investors cited Blackwall’s position within hosting infrastructure as a key advantage as AI agents generate a growing share of internet activity.

“Blackwall has built something rare: a security company that grows with the internet itself,” said Warda Shaheen, general partner at AVP. She highlighted the company’s deployment in front of millions of websites and the growing importance of managing traffic generated by AI agents.

Norman Fiore, general partner at Dawn Capital, said infrastructure designed primarily for human traffic could face increasing pressure as automated agents become more prevalent. He pointed to Blackwall’s efforts to prepare hosting customers for this shift.

Mina Samaan, general partner at MMC Ventures, said the company had developed into critical internet infrastructure and that its position at the entry point to millions of websites had become increasingly significant as AI changes traffic patterns.

Stanislav Ivanov, founding partner at Tera Ventures, emphasized the company’s technical expertise and international growth potential, noting that Tera had backed Blackwall from its early development and customer acquisition stages.

Preparing for the Next Generation of Internet Traffic

The funding comes as cybersecurity and infrastructure providers adapt to changing patterns of web activity, including automated browsing, AI-powered services and increasingly sophisticated malicious traffic.

By combining traffic filtering, application security and management capabilities within hosting providers’ infrastructure, Blackwall aims to help its partners manage these changes while improving operational efficiency and expanding their service portfolios.

The new investment will support the company’s next phase of international growth and platform development, with a focus on making traffic management and security more accessible across the hosting and cloud ecosystem.
