Leadership changes aim to strengthen strategic execution, identify growth opportunities and drive long-term value creation across the global communications business
8×8, Inc. (NASDAQ: EGHT), a provider of business communications solutions, has appointed Jamie Snaddon as senior vice president and chief strategy officer and Nerea Gandarias as managing director for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). Gandarias succeeds Snaddon in the regional leadership role as the company sharpens its focus on strategic execution and growth.
Snaddon will report to CEO Samuel Wilson and work with the executive leadership team to advance the company’s strategy, evaluate new opportunities and prioritize investments across the business. Gandarias will lead 8×8’s EMEA operations, building on the region’s existing momentum and maintaining continuity for customers and partners.
Jamie Snaddon to Lead Corporate Strategy
In the newly created chief strategy officer role, Snaddon will collaborate with Wilson and other senior leaders to identify opportunities that leverage 8×8’s technology, global communications capabilities, customer base and partner ecosystem.
His responsibilities will include assessing potential growth areas, aligning investments with business priorities and translating strategic opportunities into actionable initiatives intended to create value for customers, partners and shareholders.
Snaddon brings more than a decade of experience at 8×8. Most recently, he served as managing director of EMEA, overseeing regional strategy, profitability, market share and customer growth. Earlier in his career at the company, he led its European legal team, gaining experience across commercial, regulatory and operational functions.
“Jamie has proven he can turn strategy into results,” said Samuel Wilson, CEO of 8×8. Wilson highlighted Snaddon’s understanding of the company’s technology, customers and markets, as well as his involvement in initiatives such as 8×8 Small Business and international expansion.
Snaddon said the role would focus on sharpening priorities, evaluating opportunities and directing resources toward areas where the company can create the greatest value.
Nerea Gandarias Takes Over EMEA Leadership
Gandarias brings experience across 8×8’s marketing, channel and regional operations. She previously served as global vice president of field and channel marketing and UK country lead, working with customers and partners across the region.
Before joining 8×8, she spent 13 years at SS&C Advent, bringing additional experience in the technology sector.
Wilson said Gandarias’ understanding of the business, customers and partner ecosystem positions her to build on the progress made by Snaddon and the EMEA team. He also described the appointment as a reflection of the leadership talent developed within the company.
Her appointment is intended to maintain operational continuity while supporting further growth across EMEA.
Aligning Leadership With Growth Priorities
The appointments come as communications providers navigate changes driven by artificial intelligence, evolving customer expectations and increasing competition across business communications markets.
By establishing a dedicated chief strategy officer role and transitioning EMEA leadership to an experienced internal executive, 8×8 aims to strengthen the connection between corporate strategy, regional execution and investment decisions.
Snaddon’s appointment places greater emphasis on identifying and prioritizing growth opportunities across the business, while Gandarias will focus on executing the company’s objectives across EMEA and continuing to develop relationships with customers and partners.
