New AI capabilities let teams connect, prepare, analyze, and report on business data through natural-language interactions

Coupler.io has introduced Coupler AI, a suite of AI capabilities designed to connect data integration, preparation, analysis, and reporting within a single natural-language workflow.

The technology is available through Coupler.io’s platform and through AI tools including Claude and ChatGPT. It supports more than 400 data sources across marketing, sales, finance, and operations.

Bringing Data Preparation Into the AI Workflow

While many AI tools can analyze existing datasets, preparing the underlying data often remains a separate process. Teams may need to connect multiple systems, select relevant fields, combine datasets, define business metrics, and establish recurring data refreshes before analysis can begin.

Coupler AI is designed to bring these steps into the same workflow. Users can describe a task in natural language, with the system connecting data sources, creating data flows, preparing datasets, and producing analysis or reports.

According to Olexander Paladiy, Product Director at Coupler.io, the focus is on reducing the setup required between a business question and a usable analysis.

Connecting Multiple Business Data Sources

Coupler AI can work across multiple sources and support workflows that combine data from different business systems.

For example, users can request a connection that imports Facebook Ads spending into Data Studio and refreshes the data daily. The system can select the relevant metrics and date range, test the flow, address errors, and establish the requested refresh schedule.

More complex requests can combine sources, such as joining Shopify order data with Google Ads costs to calculate return on ad spend by campaign. Users can also ask follow-up questions to investigate changes in performance, such as a decline in revenue during a particular week.

Two Ways to Use Coupler AI

Coupler AI is available through two primary approaches:

  • AI Agent: An AI assistant built directly into Coupler.io that can work with data integration, preparation, and analysis workflows.
  • AI Integrations: Connections that make prepared business data available to AI systems including Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot, and other MCP-compatible tools.

The platform also includes a Context feature that allows teams to define business rules and metric definitions. AI-generated queries can then use those definitions when working with the organization’s data.

Keeping Calculations Outside the Language Model

A key part of Coupler AI’s architecture is its Analytical Engine, which performs calculations against the latest available data rather than relying on the language model to generate numerical results.

The company says this approach is intended to reduce the risk of inaccurate AI-generated calculations. The AI can interpret and explain the results while the underlying figures are calculated from the connected datasets.

Coupler.io also provides Skills that can combine data and organizational context into repeatable analytical workflows. Recurring processes, such as weekly marketing reviews, can therefore be structured so different team members follow the same analytical approach.

Security and Data Access Controls

Coupler AI is designed so that supported AI tools do not connect directly to a company’s underlying business systems. Users control which datasets are made available to each AI tool.

Coupler.io states that its platform is SOC 2 Type II certified and compliant with GDPR and HIPAA requirements.

With Coupler AI, the company is positioning data preparation and analysis as part of the same workflow, allowing technical and non-technical teams to move from connecting business data to generating recurring analysis and reports through natural-language interactions.
