CallRail has announced a major expansion of Voice Assist, its AI-powered voice and text assistant, introducing real-time lead qualification and intelligent call transfer capabilities.

The enhanced platform can now qualify callers, identify intent, route calls to the appropriate destination and brief employees before a transfer. It also filters spam and other low-value interactions, allowing teams to focus their time on qualified prospects and meaningful customer conversations.

AI-Powered Qualification During Calls

CallRail says its technology draws on insights from tracking and analyzing approximately 300 million leads annually.

With the expanded Voice Assist capabilities, businesses can apply custom qualification criteria while a conversation is taking place. The system can identify factors such as service-area eligibility, lead quality and caller intent before determining whether and where the interaction should be transferred.

This allows employees to spend less time handling spam, irrelevant calls and low-value inquiries while maintaining coverage for potential customers.

Three Core Voice Assist Capabilities

The expanded Voice Assist experience combines three functions:

Lead Qualification:
Voice Assist evaluates inbound calls and texts against predefined criteria, helping businesses filter spam, callers outside their service area and other low-value leads.

Intent-Based Routing:
The AI determines the reason for a call and automatically directs the caller to the appropriate employee or destination, reducing reliance on traditional menu-based routing.

Automated Warm Transfers:
Before transferring a qualified caller, Voice Assist provides the receiving employee with a summary of the conversation. This gives employees relevant context immediately and prevents customers from having to repeat information they have already provided.

Connecting Marketing Data With Conversations

Unlike standalone AI voice agents, Voice Assist is integrated into the broader CallRail platform.

The integration connects caller intent, lead quality and marketing performance, helping businesses understand which campaigns are generating valuable leads and use those insights to improve marketing investments.

“Voice Assist gives teams the confidence that every call or text will be handled,” said Ryan Johnson, Chief Product Officer at CallRail. “It can not only answer routine questions and schedule appointments, but simultaneously identify qualified, high-intent leads and route them to the right person in real time.”

Improving Call Engagement

According to CallRail, callers are 7x more likely to engage with Voice Assist than voicemail, while businesses using the technology have seen answered calls increase by up to 44%.

The company says the expanded capabilities are designed to address a common challenge for businesses: answering every inbound call can consume significant employee time, while aggressively screening calls can result in missed opportunities.

By using AI to qualify and route conversations before they reach employees, Voice Assist aims to reduce that trade-off while ensuring qualified prospects receive timely attention.

Customer Experience Benefits

The technology is already being used by businesses looking to reduce administrative workloads and improve how inbound conversations are handled.

Christian Losch, COO at BrainWorks Behavioral Health, said Voice Assist has helped the organization’s front-desk staff spend more time scheduling new patients and improving access to care.

As AI-powered voice technology becomes increasingly integrated into lead management, CallRail’s expansion positions Voice Assist as a bridge between marketing attribution, AI-driven call handling and human sales or service teams.
